We offer a variety of upgrade options for your desktop or laptop Mac. Macs have such a long lifespan, but today's memory and storage requirements aren't what they were when you purchased your computer. Instead of replacing your Mac, we almost always recommend upgrading it. A lot of people don't realize that additional memory and storage space can be added to any Mac. This helps with performance and software compatibility. We have no reservations in telling our customers that with just one or two simple upgrades, your Mac will run and feel like a new computer.
Here are a few of the most common upgrades services we offer:
Hard Drive (HD) / Solid State Drive (SSD)
If you want more internal storage space, we can replace your existing drive with a higher capacity drive (up to 4 TB). Likewise, we can also replace your drive with a state-of-the-art solid state drive, which uses flash technology. Solid state drives are extremely efficient and we feel it's the best upgrade you can do to boost performance. Solid state drives are also much more reliable than traditional hard drives.
New operating systems require more memory (RAM) because they use more system resources. If you've upgraded your operating system recently and have noticed your Mac seems sluggish, you probably need more memory. We recommend no less than 8 GB, and would encourage 16 GB for ideal performance.
Operating System (OS)
We almost always recommend upgrading your operating system for enhanced functionality, security, and performance. Apple's operating system upgrades are all free, so you don't have to spend a dime. If your Mac is a crucial part of a business that uses specialized software, be sure to check and make sure that software is compatible before upgrading your operating system.
