How to Update Your iPhone October 31 2016
Make sure you're connected to the internet. Go to your Settings app, tap on General, then tap on Software Update. Your iPhone, or other Apple device will automatically search for any new operating system updates available. At the time of this blog post, iOS 10.1.1 is the latest version available, with subsequent updates being released in the coming weeks and months.
It's important to keep your device up to date because these updates include fixes for bugs as well as performance and security enhancements. Keep in mind that if you have an older device, a newer iOS version could slow it down, but that's mainly when jumping from iOS 8 to 9, or 9 to 10 (current).
Apple released an iOS update today, so get downloading if you haven't already.
macOS Sierra September 26 2016
Apple recently made the latest iteration of their Mac operating system, called macOS Sierra, available to the public for download. You can find it in the App Store app on your Mac. Unlike Microsoft, Apple offers all of their operating system upgrades for free, so don't worry about having to spend a dime. The new update doesn't have any major new features, aside from Siri integration, but it does offer enhanced performance and stability as well as increased security to keep you safe.
There is still some software that is catching up to be compatible with the new operating system, so if you use special software for business or personal use that is vital to you, you may want to wait a week or two before upgrading.
We at Got Mac have upgraded all of our computers and we love the update. We're sure you will, too! If you have any questions about upgrading, please feel free to ask us.
