Expanding Batteries September 02 2016

We get a lot of customers who come in with cracked or bulging trackpads on their Mac laptops. What they don't realize is underneath the trackpad sits the battery. If your Mac sits unused for a long time, or undergoes temperature extremes, the battery is liable to start expanding or bloating. Apple actually designed them this way as not to explode. So, if you start to notice that your trackpad isn't clicking, that's a sure sign that the battery needs to be replaced, and a battery is a lot more affordable than a battery and a trackpad, or replacement top case or keyboard.

For that matter, if you notice anything odd about your Mac, even slowness, please contact us. We'll probably need to diagnose the issue, but at least you'll be avoiding catastrophe. You know what they say, it's better to be safe than sorry.
